Texas woman’s severed head found in trash bag
DALLAS —Three men remain jailed Monday in connection with a weekend killing in which the severed head of a dead woman was found in a trash bag near the crime scene, police said.
Police in the Dallas suburb of Richardson found the body of 20-year-old Ibonne Zamudio on Saturday morning inside the home of 51-year-old James Matisi. The homeowner’s 10-year-old son had called police to report a disturbance in the home. Matisi, Timothy Jones, 44, and Eric Ziegler, 23, were in the home when police arrived. All three were in the Richardson Jail on Monday afternoon, each facing a murder charge with bond set at $1 million. It was not known if they had lawyers representing them, police said. Richardson police Sgt. Kevin Perlich said the scene was “gruesome.” No motive has been determined, although there were signs of drug use in the home, he said. The boy who called in the killing is in the custody of child Protective Services, police said. Featured Texarkana Business Directory Articles Featured Texarkana Business Directory Coupons |
