66-year-old indicted on murder charges
HOUSTON—A 66-year-old woman was indicted Monday on murder charges in the death of her husband nearly 23 years after she said a barefoot intruder killed him and raped her.
A Harris County grand jury indicted Carolyn Sue Krizan-Wilson, who was released from jail pending trial after having her bond reduced from $50,000 to $30,000, the Houston Chronicle reported in its online edition Monday. Krizan-Wilson, a former Houston police finance employee, told authorities that a barefoot man with gloves crept into her home and tortured her with hotwax and a coat hanger before shooting her sleeping husband, Roy McCaleb, with a gun she kept under her pillow. The woman said she then ran down the hallway, bumped into the intruder and fired two shots after he dropped the gun. The shooting took place at the couple’s home in Galena Park. McCaleb’s daughter Pam Nalley had urged authorities to re-examine the case yearly since 1985. A Houston police sergeant agreed to look at the case a few months ago. Krizan-Wilson and McCaleb were married for less than two years. Nalley believes her father was killed because of the life insurance policy her stepmother took out on him. Krizan-Wilson maintains her innocence. A telephone listing for Krizan-Wilson was unavailable. Featured Texarkana Business Directory Articles Featured Texarkana Business Directory Coupons |
