A desert tortoise named Sadie and a wild fawn rest together in a pen at Dotty Cooper’s animal rehabilitation center near Cusick, Wash., recently. The tortoise and the fawn, both apparently abandoned, wander around the rural farm together. Cooper said the tortoise taught the fawn to eat.
