Lufkin man gets prison for attack on ex-girlfriend
LUFKIN, Texas—A Lufkin man who says he head-butted and bit an ex-girlfriend in a show of love must serve 50 years in prison for abducting and raping her.
An Angelina County jury on Tuesday convicted 33-year-old Tavaeras Lamont Kimble in the 2007 kidnapping and sexual assault case. Kimble was sentenced to 50 years for aggravated sexual assault, 10 years for kidnapping, five years for burglary of a habitation and fined $17,000. The sentences will run concurrently. Kimble must serve at least 25 years before being eligible for parole. Prosecutors say the woman was kept two days against her will until Kimble allowed her to go into a grocery store, where she asked a worker for help. Defense attorney Bill Agnew said there was insufficient evidence. Featured Texarkana Business Directory Articles Featured Texarkana Business Directory Coupons
