LITTLE ROCK—Arkansas Democratic Party leaders have chosen David Pryor to fill in as their chairman through January.

The Democratic Party of Arkansas State Committee on Friday voted unanimously to name the former U.S. senator and governor its interim chairman. Pryor replaced Bill Gwatney who was shot dead in the party headquarters last month.

Pryor will serve as chairman through the end of Gwatney’s term.
