Federal jury indicts two Texas men over RNC actions
MINNEAPOLIS—Two Texas men accused of planning to disrupt the Republican National Convention have been indicted on weapons charges by a federal grand jury.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minneapolis says 22-year-old David Guy McKay and 23-year-old Bradley Neil Crowder, both of Austin, have been charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing a firearm without a serial number and illegally manufacturing a firearm. The charges filed Tuesday relate to allegations that the pair had made Molotov cocktails and planned to use them against law enforcement vehicles. Authorities say they found eight of the explosive cocktails after searching a St. Paul home. An FBI affidavit also claims Crowder and McKay brought 35 shields made from stolen traffic barrels to St. Paul. Screws were driven through them so they could be used as weapons.
