Hall and Gohmert keep seats
Two incumbent U.S. representatives from Texas kept their seats Tuesday night.
Republican U.S. Rep. Ralph Hall defeated Democrat Glenn Melançon to secure another term in District 4. Hall had 67 percent of the vote to Melançon’s 31 percent with 299 of 361, or 83 percent, of the precincts reporting. Libertarian Fred Annett was third with 2 percent of the vote. Republican District 1 incumbent U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert had 88 percent of the vote to independent Roger Owen’s 12 percent with 281 of 320 precincts, or 88 percent, of the precincts reporting.
