College Baseball: Alabama knocks off Razorbacks, 11-6
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—Brandon May hit two of Alabama’s five home runs as the Tide defeated Arkansas 11-6 on Saturday.
The win clinched the three-game series for Alabama and extended its winning streak to five games. Josh Rutledge started the eighth inning with a single and then stole second base. Alex Avila followed with a base hit to score Rutledge with the tying run. May followed with a two-run home run to give Alabama a 5-3 lead. Kent Matthes then homered to make it 6-3, Kyle Moore scored on Tyler Odle’s triple and Jake Smith scored Odle to put the Tide up 8-3. Arkansas starter Justin Wells gave up eight runs and 12 hits in 7 2/3 innings. Alabama added three more runs in the ninth and Arkansas made it interesting at bottom of the inning when Ben Tscehpikow slammed a three-run home run.
