Razorbacks beat Mississippi State
STARKVILLE, Miss.—Three Arkansas relievers provided four innings of one-hit relief and the Razorbacks capitalized on five Mississippi State errors to beat the Bulldogs 15-10 Saturday in Ron Polk’s final game.
The Bulldogs (23-33, 9-21) earned a Southeastern Conference series victory in Polk’s last weekend on the job, but left the coach with his first losing season in 35 years. He is seventh on the NCAA’s career victories list and finished 1,373-700-2 with Mississippi State, Georgia and Georgia Southern. Chase Leavitt and Jeff Nutt each had three hits for Arkansas (33-22, 14-13), which was knocked out of the SEC tournament after losing the opening two games of the series in Starkville.
