LOS ANGELES—Matt Kemp capped a five-run seventh inning with a three-run homer, Russell Martin also went deep and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat Carlos Zambrano and the Chicago Cubs 7-3 on Saturday.

Martin finished with three RBIs as the Dodgers sent Zambrano to his first loss in 11 starts.

PITTSBURGH—Chris Snyder hit a home run to lead off the ninth inning, giving Arizona a victory over Pittsburgh.

The Arizona catcher hit a 1-1 pitch into the left-field seats off reliever John Grabow (4-2) for his sixth home run of the season.



Giants 6, Nationals 0

WASHINGTON—John Bowker’s grand slam capped a six-run eighth inning and Jonathan Sanchez won his third straight start for the Giants.

Sanchez (5-3) allowed four singles in seven innings.
