National League: Phillies shut out Nationals, 4-0
WASHINGTON—Cole Hamels pitched into the eighth inning, Jimmy Rollins drove in two runs and the Philadelphia Phillies snapped Washington’s seven-game winning streak with a 4-0 victory Tuesday night.
Hamels (12-8) gave up five hits in 7 1-3 innings, striking out six and walking three. In 29 starts this season, he has pitched at least seven innings 23 times—the most in the majors.
