IRVING, Texas—Dallas signed defensive back Tra Battle off San Diego’s practice squad Wednesday, and he could play today.

The Cowboys created a roster spot for Battle when they officially put rookie running back Felix Jones on injured reserve.

Coach Wade Phillips said Battle, who played only one game for the Chargers since signing as an undrafted free agent last year, could play on special teams against Seattle.
