SAN MARCOS, Texas—Canyon Randall won its 42nd straight match and claimed the UIL Class 4A state volleyball championship by defeating Brenham 26-24, 25-23, 25, 25-11.

Championship match MVP Aubree Piper, a Texas Tech volleyball signee, led the Randall Raiders Saturday with 10 kills in a dominating effort at the net.

Randall lost its opening match of the season to Class 5A finalist Amarillo and reeled off 42 straight victories, winning 109 of 111 games in that stretch.
