Cooksey-Griffie

Kyeron Shadawn Cooksey and Keon Idris Griffie were united in marriage at 5 p.m. July 12 at Christ Nations Church. Donald Vaughn performed the ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Herman and Marie Scott of Texarkana, Texas, and Mubarak and Zarina Ahmad of Oakland, Calif., and Adrian and Norma Brown of Texarkana.

Maid of honor was Halley Willis, sister of the bride. Bridal attendants were Bianca Byers, Tammie Golette, Cornithia Edwards, Erica Jones, Sherica Williams, Angela Sumpter and Shaqundreea Gholston.

Best man was Roderick Griffie, brother of the groom. Groom’s attendants were Ayinde Ahmad, Chris Walker, Jeremy McGinnis, Eric Rowe, Terrence Marshall, Chris McGhee, Lewis Campbell, Ekari Davis and El Amin Greer.

Ushers were Devan Edwards and Isaiah Brown.

A reception at the Elks Lodge followed the ceremony.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will live in Texas.
