The University Historians Students Club of Texas A&M-Texarkana is sponsoring a Civil War Living History Day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Texarkana College. This event will feature Civil War soldiers, weapon demonstrations, guest speakers and music by The Prairie County Avengers of Bethany, Okla. Admission is $3 adults, school age children, high school and college students are free with ID. Info: Texas A&M at 903-223-3000.



TexRep presents “A Raisin in the Sun” at Texarkana College’s Stilwell Theatre Sept. 12-14 and Sept. 19-21. Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets: $10 adults and $8 senior and students. Reservations: 903-831-7827.

TexRep will also be holding open auditions for “The Importance of Being Earnest” at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15 in the Stilwell Theater at Texarkana College. Performance dates are Nov. 7-9 and Nov. 14-16. Cast of 4 females and 7 males needed. Info: 903-244-1600.



Four States Fair and Rodeo comes to town Friday, Sept. 12, and runs through Saturday, Sept. 20. Gate admission is $5 adults, $3 children 6-12, and under 5 free. Highlights include: WWE Wrestling at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 (tickets $20, $30 or $40) and the PRCA Rodeo Sept. 17-20 (tickets $8, $12 or $15). There will also be a parade and demolition derby. The park also celebrates Jubilee Weekend Friday, Sept. 12 through Sunday, Sept. 14. Festivities include a quilt show, exhibits, pioneer demonstrations, historic dance workshop and lunch at Williams’ Tavern Restaurant. Cost for dance workshop is $18 for couples and $10 for singles.



TRAHC presents “Tuna Does Vegas” with original stars, Joe Sears and Jaston Williams, Friday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 5 at the Perot Theatre in downtown Texarkana. Texarkana Museums System has many interesting and interactive exhibits at the Museum of Regional History, 219 N. State Line Ave. (Admission: $5 for adults, $3.50 for children) and Discovery Place Children’s Museum, 215 Pine St. (Admission: $4.50 ages 5 and up, free for children 4 and under.)
