The Texarkana Museums System offers free admission Saturday in conjunction with a Smithsonian magazine promotion of free museum admittance across the country.

To gain free admission, museum visitors should bring the Museum Day Admission Card from the September issue of Smithsonian. Or the public can visit Smithsonian.com and download the card.

This is the fourth annual Museum Day, a day when museums and cultural institutions nationwide open free to Smithsonian readers and Website visitors. The Smithsonian’s Washington, D.C., properties offer free admission.

The three TMS museums are the Ace of Clubs House, Discovery Place Children’s Museum and the Museum of Regional History.

Current special exhibits include “Main Treasures: A Celebration of Downtown” at the regional history museum, as well as “Blending the Artistic With the Spiritual: Vintage Christening Gowns ca. 1870-1920” at the Ace of Clubs House.

Museum Day hours on Saturday are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The final Ace of Clubs House tour starts at 3 p.m.
