The Junior League of Texarkana presents its 23rd annual Mistletoe Fair from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Four States Fairgrounds Entertainment Center. Family Day starts at 5 p.m. today, with Smokey Joe’s barbecue is $5 per person, SantaClaus arrives on horse-drawn carriage at 6 p.m., and pictures with Santa by Sterling Images are $5 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. General admission is $6 at the door. Country music legend George Jones will perform at Music City Texas Theater in Linden at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30. Jones is known for songs such as “She Thinks I Still Care,” “White Lighting” and “He Stopped Loving Her Today.” Tickets are on sale now: $225 for premium seating and $135 for reserved seating.

Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council presents A Christmas with Rita Coolidge and an 80 voice high school and college mass choir at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the Perot Theatre, downtown Texarkana. Texarkana Public Library will have Make Holiday Magic for Pennies at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the David Nelson Room. Carla Haley and member of the Miller County Extension Homemakers Council will share creative gift wrapping, gifts and recipes that are fun and economical. Admission is free.



St. Mary’s Episcopal and Christ Lutheran Church will host St. Nicholas Festival from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. Birthday Buddies will be participating in this old-world style German festival with lights, caroling and a visit from St. Nick. Info: 870-773-8180.



Downtown Gateway Farmer’s Market, corner of 9th and Jefferson, is hosting a Handmade Crafters Market from 7 a.m. to noon every Saturday through December. Items include holiday yard art, wood carvings and embroidered hand towels.



Historic Washington State Park will have a Holiday Sweets and Treats, Dutch Oven Workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The workshop includes how to cook and bake holiday favorites. Historic Jefferson, Texas, will host a true 19th Century Christmas at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28 in the enchanted forest and St. Nicholas will flip the switch during the official Christmas Lighting Ceremony, Christmas chorales will be sung and the Enchanted Castle will be unveiled.

Arts and Ends

Texarkana’s Regional Arts Center, 321 W. Fourth St., is hosting Landscape: Selections from the Wachovia Securities Art Collection through Dec. 6. Exhibit includes works by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Christo. The Four States Art Club/Decorative Artists Exhibit is also on display at the RAC. The exhibit will run through Saturday. Also on display, Meaux Johnson: Expressions of Meaux and Lee Ruth: Backyard Safari through Jan. 8. The exhibit will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 7 p.m. on Thursdays. Admission is free.
