Events Tickets are on sale now for the Miss Texarkana show at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 at the Perot Theatre. “In one Era and Out the Other” will feature song and dance numbers from talented Texarkanians. For Little Miss Texarkana, the pageant begins at 9:30 a.m. that day. Tickets are $10 for Little Miss, $15 for Miss and Miss Teen, and $20 for both pageant shows. Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center, 820 Clyde Fant Parkway at Lake Street, Shreveport, La., will be showing “Santa vs. the Snowman” through Jan. 2. It is an animated film from the creator of Nickelodeon’s “Jimmy Neutron” featuring celebrity voices of Jonathan Winters, Ben Stein and Victoria Jackson. It tells the tale of a lonely snowman who is jealous of Santa and wages war against him. Show times are noon Tuesday-Friday, 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and 3:30 p.m. Sundays. Also at noon Monday. Arts and Ends Texarkana’s Regional Arts Center, 321 W. Fourth St., is showing Meaux Johnson: Expressions of Meaux and Lee Ruth: Backyard Safari through Jan. 8. The exhibit will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 7 p.m. on Thursdays. Admission is free. Info: 903-792-8681. “Snoopy as the World War I Flying Ace” on display through Jan. 3. There will be reproduction comic strips, the infamous dog house, iris prints, photos of his creator Charles M. Shulz and books. “Eighth Annual African American Voice: An Evening Performance” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Jan. 15 at the Regional Arts Center. Admission for this Occasional Thursday event is free. Two new exhibits will be available in January. The “Sixth Regional Celebration of African American Artists” will run Jan. 8 through Feb. 21. Also, “Defining Moments: An Exhibition of Works by Bryan Collier” opens Jan. 13 and closes March 17. Texarkana Museums System has many interesting exhibits at the Museum of Regional History, 219 N. Discovery Place Children’s Museum also has the exhibit “Good Vibrations,” built especially for the Arkansas Discovery Network by the Exploratorium in San Francisco. The exhibit explores weather, sound, light, geology and motion. It runs through Jan. 11. Music John Talley plays at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Lee’s Catfish and Steakhouse. Dee Bell, Megan Estes, Jimmy Lewis and Chuck Staggs will perform at the Oaklawn Opry on Saturday. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission: $8 each, $15 couple, under 12 free.
