The Friends of the Library will have a sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Saturday at 322 W. Broad. They will have fiction, non-fiction books, CD’s, DVD’s, records, children’s books and materials for both home school parents and children. Info: 903-794-2147.



Four States Fairgrounds will host the Lipizzaner Stallions at 2 p.m. Sunday. Originally bred as a war horse, the Lipizzaner evolved to become a horse of aristocracy and in modern times is considered a living form of equestrian art. Info: 407-366-0366.



Richard S. Wagner M.D. will be singing and telling the story of Richard Burns, a Scottish poet and songwriter at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Klipsch City Hall Auditorium in Hope, Ark. Tickets are $10. Info: 602-999-7492.



TexRep presents “The Beauty Queen of Leenane,” a dark comedy thriller. Northeast Texas Community College outside of Mount Pleasant, Texas, will present the Harlem Gospel Choir at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, in the Whatley Center. Tickets: $30 adults and $10 age 17 and under.



Circle J. Cowboy Church Band will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the Oaklawn Opry, 124 Oaklawn Village in Texarkana, Texas. Cost: $8 donation at door. Funds will be used to purchase bleachers for the church’s rodeo arena.



DeGray Lake Resort, near Arkadelphia, Ark., will host the 30th Annual Eagles, Etc. Festival today through Sunday. Programs, including guided eagle tours, bird hikes, owl prowls and several live bird programs and demonstrations, begin at 3 p.m. today and run through noon Sunday. CenturyTel Center, Bossier City, La., will host “Elmo’s Green Thumb,” at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25. Arts and Ends

Two new exhibits are featured at the Regional Arts Center in downtown Texarkana: The “Sixth Regional Celebration of African American Artists” will run through Feb. 21. Also, “Defining Moments: An Exhibition of Works by Bryan Collier” will run through March 17.



Texarkana Museums System has many interesting exhibits at the Museum of Regional History, 219 N. State Line Ave., and Discovery Place Children’s Museum, 215 Pine St. Hours for both: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Info: 903-793-4831.

Music

Showdown plays at 8 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 488, New Boston, Texas.



A special ’50s show with Dale Cummings, plus Randy Dyess, Kristian Marshall, Dallas Hart, Michelle Sommers, Porter Sisters, Hal Roper, Jacque McElhaney, Hugh Blair and Paul Richardson will be featured at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pleasant Jamboree, 112 W.
