Volunteer Opportunities

The Texarkana Volunteer Center offers volunteer opportunities in the community and refers prospective volunteers to appropriate agencies and volunteer groups. Potential volunteers should contact Kathey Graves at 870-773-8811.



The Escort Program needs drivers to transport older citizens to the doctor, dentist, grocery store and other necessary errands. Call Joy at 870-773-8811.



Faith, Love and Hope Youth Corp needs adults ages 55 and older for their Across Ages Mentoring Program. Volunteers will mentor youth ages 10-11 for two hours each week in its after-school program. Call Shala Scoggins or Terese Jones at 870-774-0214.



Family Matters (formerly Kid Exchange) needs volunteer to help monitor court-ordered supervised visits. Training will be provided. Call Jen Mugno at 903-793-7988.

Hospice of Texarkana/Hospice of Hope needs volunteers to spend time with terminally ill patients. All volunteers are trained. Hospice accepts patients who live within 50 miles of Texarkana in Texas and Arkansas and needs volunteers in each community. Training will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 11, 18 and 25.
