Southwest Arkansas Development Council (SWADC) will accept applications for the LI-HEAP Crisis Intervention Program until funds are depleted or the program closes.
The program is for residents who need help with emergency utility assistance, and they must have a shut-off or have been disconnected to apply.
This program provides one-time assistance, so people who have applied for crisis services this season will not be eligible for additional help.
Applications for assistance in Miller County (Texarkana) will be accepted from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Miller County Senior Center, 1007 Jefferson Ave., Texarkana, Ark.
Identification is needed to apply for the program, including driver's license, birth certificate, work or school ID or voter registration card, etc.
Social Security numbers for all members of the household are needed, along with proof of household income for all members 18 and older for the month prior to the application (check stubs, SSA, SSI, TEA, VA, retirement, utility allowance).
The gas and electric bill are also required. Call 870-773-9672 for more information.
