Jonesboro police seek to identify body of woman

JONESBORO, Ark.-Police in Jonesboro are trying to identify the body of a woman found on the city's northeast side.

Police spokesman Paul Holmes says the body was found Friday afternoon in a field by a man walking his dog.

Holmes says the body had no identification and will be sent to the state medical examiner for an autopsy. A suspected cause of death was not released.

Holmes said the woman was black and 30 to 40 years old with thinning hair and a number of tattoos.
