TULSA, Okla.-Stifling temperatures and heat index values exceeding 100 degrees were experienced throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas this weekend.
The National Weather Service says the dangerous heat will remain over portions of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas at least through today.
High temperatures will range from the mid-90s to low 100s each day, but heat index values could make it feel more like 105 degrees to 100 degrees outside.
Forecasters say the heat and humidity could increase the risk of cramps, stress and heat stroke. The weather service says people in the affected areas should drink plenty of fluids, stay in rooms that have air conditioning and check up on relatives and neighbors.
