JONESBORO, Ark.-A three-judge panel of federal appeals court judges will hear arguments next month in a Tennessee company's lawsuit against two northeast Arkansas judges.
The Jonesboro Sun reports an April 17 hearing is scheduled in the appeal by Memphis-based The Justice Network of the dismissal of its lawsuit against Craighead County District Court judges Tommy Fowler and David Bolin.
The company filed the lawsuit in 2017 after Fowler and Boling allowed probation offenders to reset payment plans and removed The Justice Network from previous orders.
The lawsuit contends Boling and Fowler unconstitutionally interfered with contracts the company had with people placed on probation by previous judges.
The company is appealing dismissal of the case by a federal judge, who ruled the district judges are immune from lawsuits when they act within their judicial capacity.
