Police say one dead, one hurt in Little Rock shooting

LITTLE ROCK - Police in Little Rock say one person is dead and a second person is wounded following an early-morning shooting.

Authorities say officers responding to reports of gunfire in a commercial area of the city about 2:30 a.m. Sunday found 29-year-old Emmanuel Cooper with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers performed emergency life saving measures but Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say officers later learned that a 20-year-old shooting victim had arrived at an area hospital and was being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound sustained in the same shooting incident.

Investigators shut down a multi-block area while they investigated the shooting. Police have not released information about possible suspects or a motive in the shooting.
