LONDON—The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Wednesday. Gold was unchanged.

The euro traded at $1.4691, up from $1.4650 late Tuesday in New York. In afternoon trading on Wednesday in New York, the euro fetched $1.4690.

Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Tuesday, included 109.81 Japanese yen, up from 109.63; 1.1005 Swiss francs, up from 1.1000; and 1.0484 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0487.

The British pound was quoted at $1.8312, down from $1.8389.
