Even if the Texas side of town had a place to host the Toughman Contest—which it doesn’t—it could not have done so.

There is a law against such events in Texas.

There is no such law in Arkansas. That’s why two weeks ago dozens of young men from Texarkana and the region duked it out for the entertainment of a rowdy and paying crowd at the Four States Fair Entertainment Center on the Arkansas side of town.

No doubt they got their money’s worth. There is a strong market for this kind of base and vulgar stupidity that masquerades as sport.
