Irony is an inescapable product of writing, and so the juxtaposition of record gas prices this week and a product review of a new, 5,700-lb, wind resistant SUV comes as something less than a complete shock — at least to an auto writer.

First things first. I am not a big fan of SUVs, tending to think that they fall much more on the side of being a want, than a need.
