A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about my public school experience with the poet Robert Frost and lamented the focus of schools on teaching to a test instead of emphasizing learning through literature and other arts.

I expected I would be chastised by some school administrator or have my ears filled with the wailing of beleaguered teachers bemoaning the shift in emphasis in curricula. In other words, I expected adult readers to take me to task over the TAKS.
