It’s been almost two weeks since our roofs were pounded and our windows shattered by fist-size hail that jolted us from our beds like a midnight mortar attack.

It was a storm like few others we’ve seen in these parts, an ice bomb barrage that turned April foolishness into a fast-falling freezing fright.

While the fear lasted only as long as the hail rained, the aftermath has been financially traumatic to many households and businesses. Several local car dealerships were soundly pummeled.
