It was a win-win situation for Texarkana businessman Tom Parsons last spring at his second annual Golf Carnival at Oak Grove Golf Club.

The odds of the event being a success were good, and it proved to be just that with nearly $30,000 raised for the Texarkana Boys and Girls Club. Parsons beat the odds when hundreds of golf balls were dropped from a helicopter, and the one closest to the target was a $5 donation by Parsons.
