When you think about it, our world is governed by numbers, the majority of which are preceded by a dollar symbol.

No doubt we’ve all been stricken with a sick feeling in the pits of our stomachs while watching those numbers continually spin at the gas pump. But imagine how we would feel if the vehicle we were fueling was a gas-guzzling school bus.

Now multiply that by the number of buses at all the public schools in Arkansas, and it’s easy to understand why the state’s governing body of athletics is concerned with travel costs now more than ever.
