Select baseball may not be killing the American Legion program in Texas, but it’s definitely changed the quality of teams competing in the Lone Star State.

The 83rd annual Texas American Legion State Baseball tournament would have been more impressive to the outside world if it had just been a best-of-three series between League City and Texarkana.

No doubt it was a rare opportunity for the boys from Edinburg, South Houston and Houston Milby, but these teams were overmatched.
