Good parents nearly always spoil their children to some extent. As grandparents we sometimes get the chance to do it all over again.

Of course, political correctness has long since replaced the spare-the-rod theory that was the cornerstone in the rearing of baby boomers, who, as grandparents, have had to re-learn the ways of modern parenting. Now we have to bite our lips and hope the lack of physical discipline does more good than harm as our children/grandchildren grow.
