Some weeks ago, I wrote about an upcoming cleanup of the African-American section of Stateline-Woodlawn Cemetery. That section of the cemetery has not been cleaned up for a good while, and that span of time includes the spring storms of this year.

There is a lot to do. Now we have a date to do it.

What we need now is helping hands and willing workers. The cleanup is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 27. That’s a Saturday.

Because this section of the cemetery is in such rough shape, we cannot use mowers or bush hogs. This is a job that requires chain saws...
