Finalists make history at recent U.S. Women’s Open
In case you weren’t watching, bowling history was made at the 2008 U.S. Women’s Open in Romeoville, Ill.
Kim Terrell-Kearney of Dover, Del., rolled a 216 to defeate Trisha Reid of Columbus, Ohio, who shot 189 in the United States Bowling Congress event. What made the finals so unique was similar to Super Bowl XLI. Both Terrell-Kearney and Reid are African-Americans, and it was the first time two had lined up in opposition for a professional title in bowling.
