Last week we examined films and television shows, so this week we’ll take a look at something that can be equally entertaining or just as annoying—TV commercials.

Unless you live in TiVo Land, and quite a few of us do not, you have to put up with commercials. And I almost feel sorry for people who don’t work the swing shift because they have to put up with commercials more than two nights a week.

So let’s examine television commercials, some of them then and now. Of course, “then” is relative, since many of us can remember the lyrics to that old Pepsodent jingle:
