“Words have a meaning”

That was just a part of a anonymous message from a gentleman who decided to leave me a voice mail Friday after finding a headline written above one of my stories “thoroughly disgusting that writers use incorrect words and put them in bold print.”

Obviously words have meanings, and many have a history of their specific definitions. But sometimes words can be manipulated or used playfully as puns.

Now a pun is defined as the normally humorous use of a word in such a way as to suggest two or more of its meanings or the meaning of another ...
