Once upon a time an 8-8 record might earn an NFL team a wild-card playoff berth.

It’s extremely unlikely that will be the case in 2008. It’s also doubtful 9-7 will be good enough, maybe not even 10-6.

That said, it looks like the Dallas Cowboys will have to win three of their final four games to finish 11-5 and reach the postseason. The Pokes have been dealt a hand where there will be no bluffing. They’ll have to play at their highest level during December, a month that has spelled doom for Dallas the past three or four years.
