Ethics investigation catches up with Sanford

It shouldn’t be long now. Embattled South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, once touted to be a leading Republican on the national scene, will resign any time now, I’m guessing. Truth may yet set him free, or rather free the state from enduring embarrassment.

Last week, his state’s Supreme Court turned back a bid by Sanford to keep secret an ethics investigation report stemming from revelations he carried on an intercontinental relationship with a woman not his wife.
