Monroe Black, 89, of Texarkana, Ark., died Sunday, March 9, 2008.

Mr. Black was born March 16, 1918. He was retired from Arkansas Highway De-partment, a farmer and rancher and a member of Heavenly Place Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Sparks Black of Texarkana; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bert and Debra Black of Texarkana and Noah and Jean Black of Genoa, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and J.W.
