DELL HAMPTON

Derrell Turner Hampton, 69, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Hampton was born Aug. 5, 1938, in Tatum, Texas. He was retired from the State of Texas Department of Public Safety and a member of Tatum Masonic Lodge No. 1386 and Faith Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gerry Hampton and Billy Hampton.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Hampton of Texarkana; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindi and Grady Norton of Texarkana; his mother, Ruth Hampton of Tatum; one brother, Darwin Hampton of Mount Vernon, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas, with the Rev. James Ross officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. in Youngblood Cemetery, Beckville, Texas.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
