BILLY SPLAWN

Billy Francis Splawn, 83, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Splawn was born July 23, 1924, in Bradley County, Ark. He was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant, a deacon and member of Wamba Baptist Church and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his son, Billy “Tuffy” Splawn Jr.; and one grandson, Dustin Alan Splawn.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Martin Splawn of Texarkana; three sisters, Jackie Smith and Lamar Splawn of Texarkana and Judy Fitts of Aurora, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Dixie Splawn of Texarkana; and one grandchild, Christina Rene Splawn.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Jeff Robinett officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
