HOPE, Ark.—James Russey Sr., 87, of Mineral Springs, Ark., died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in a Texarkana hospital. Mr. Russey was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Okolona, Ark. He worked for Weyerhaeuser and was a member of Lily Works Lodge. He was preceded in death by one grandson. Survivors include his wife, Queen Esther Nelson Russey of Mineral Springs; two daughters, Wanda Logan and Bernice Jackson of Mount Morris, Mich.; three sons, James Russey of Flint, Mich., Willie Ray Russey of Shreveport, La., and Freddie Russey of Mineral Springs; one sister, Elnora Phifer of Greenville, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Floyd T. Jeans Memorial CME Church, Tollette, Ark. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Mineral Springs, under direction of Hicks Funeral Home.
