MARTHA FORBES

Martha Forbes, 93, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, April 28, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Ms. Forbes was born Dec. 4, 1914, in Elizabeth City, N.C. She was a member of Elks Lodge, Lydia Circle, Cathedral Choir and Mount Orange Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Shirley Sharpe and Edwin Finn; one sister, Dolly Jones of Norfolk, Va.; three special friends, Gayla Cranford, Suzanne and Carrie Rochelle; one grandson, Edwin Michael Finn of Texarkana; and three great-grandchildren, Brittnei Finn, Kayla Finn and Jasmine Finn of Arlington, Texas.

Closed-casket services will be 4 p.m. Friday at Mount Orange Baptist Church with the Rev. Leslie Bremby officiating. Private burial will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the body may be viewed 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Dierksen Hospice or Mount Orange Baptist Church Choir.
