VELMA GRAVES

HOPE, Ark.—Velma Jean Butler Graves, 74, of Tom, Okla., died Saturday, April 26, 2008, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mrs. Graves was born Jan. 7, 1934, in Tom. She was a domestic caregiver. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Graves; and one daughter, Brenda Reynolds.

Survivors include two sons, Clifford Butler of Idabel, Okla., and Herbert Hendrix of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Wanda Harris of Idabel; two stepdaughters, Peggy Henderson of Houston and Hazel Morris of Tollette, Ark.; one brother, Luther Harrell; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Baptist Church, Tom. Local arrangements are under direction of Hicks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Della Simpson Cemetery, Tom, under direction of Nunley’s Funeral Home, Idabel.
