MARVIN HURD SR.

Marvin Robert “Lang” Hurd Sr., 48, of Texarkana, Texas, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Hurd was born Dec. 13, 1959. He was an employee of Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant, Red River Army Depot and Texarkana Housing Authority and a member of Full Gospel Holy Temple Church, Nash, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Denise Hurd; eight children, Orlandus Maxwell, Marvin Hurd Jr., Marvinando Hurd, Earl Jones, Marqueshia Jones, Antonio Jones, Mardenesha Jones and Marvin D. Hurd; his parents, Mattie Hurd and the Rev. Dr. Basil Hurd Sr.; seven siblings, Basilene Henson, Basil Hurd Jr., Brevenando Hurd Sr., Jeweltene Hurd Reed, Basina Houston, Pearl Hurd Shorter, and Dorisina Hurd Jacobs; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Orange Baptist Church with the Rev. Leslie Brembrey officiating. Burial will be in Nash Cemetery under direction of East Funeral Home, Moores Lane.
