HOPE, Ark.—Jesse Royce “Pete” Jones, 63, of Hope died Thursday, May 1, 2008.
Mr. Jones was born Sept. 14, 1944, in Nevada County. He was retired owner of Pete’s Chick Service, a former service manager in the poultry industry, a member of Union Baptist Church, Bodcaw, Ark., and a veteran of the Arkansas National Guard. He was preceded in death by one son Greg Jones. Survivors include his wife, Mary Long Jones; one daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Billy Jo Arnette of Emmet, Ark.; five sisters, Shirley Joslin of Haynesville, La., LaJuan Thompson of Washington, Ark., Ruth Hicks and Margaret McKamie of Emmet and Katie Sue Long of League City, Texas; two grandchildren; two step-grandsons; and a number of other relatives. Services will be held 2 p.m. today at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Brown officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
