TYLER, Texas—Jessie L. Cowden, 87, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, in Texarkana.

Mrs. Cowden was born Dec. 10, 1920, in Kempner, Texas. She was retired from Mother Frances Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Burl Cowden.

Survivors include one son, the Rev. Ronald Cowden of Troup, Texas; one daughter, Kay Rhodes of Texarkana; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Tyler Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Cowden officiating. Burial will be in Flint Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
