Odis N. Russ, 85, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Russ was born June 28, 1922, in Bowie County, Texas. He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corporation, retired supervisor in ammunitions at Red River Army Depot, member of Red Lick Methodist Church and World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Russ.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne “Curly” and Linda Russ of DeKalb, Texas; one stepson, Charles Keese of Irving, Texas; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Shirley and Tracy Smith of Frisco, Texas; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane, with the Revs. Dudley Childs and Steve Petty officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Red Lick Methodist Church.
